Lava is not a tattoo studio in the conventional sense. It’s a project-based practice — Alejandro accepts a small number of tattoo commissions each year, chosen by what the work asks rather than by demand. Walk-ins are not available. Standard flash is not offered. Pricing reflects that the practice operates closer to commissioned drawing than to retail tattoo work.

If your project resonates with the visual language of the broader practice — pre-Columbian forms, ritual symbolism, urban decay — write with reference images, intended placement, approximate size, and a few words about why this piece. Replies arrive within five business days. Most projects don’t move forward; the ones that do are usually right.
